Who is Annie…

For those of you who don’t know me, and for those of you who are just plain curious let me try to tell a bit about myself. First, and foremost, I am a “faith based” trainer and horsemanship advocate. I believe that my faith should be evident in every aspect of my life for it to be authentic. That being said I include my animals in that equation as well.

“A righteous person has regard for the life of his animal, But even the compassion of the wicked is cruel.” Proverbs 12:10-NASB

It is my intention to make a “safe” place online for others to come learn, experience, and enjoy horsemanship in an edifying, and rewarding way. I have no desire to judge, criticize, or disparage any one. Faith is about respecting and honoring The Lord for me, and others. I won’t compromise my faith, or values, however, this doesn’t mean that I don’t have contact with others who may, or may not, share my faith. Please keep this in mind as you explore this site. I do my best to share the love of God with everyone I meet. I hope you come away feeling good, and encouraged after being here.

My History…
I have been around horses for most of my life in some fashion or another. I began a desire for horses when I was very young. That desire grew into a great fascination with these “gentle giants”. I took lessons every day for the entire summer as a child, and then one day my parents so graciously presented me with my first horse. From that point on I spent every waking moment with him. As I grew up we moved around a bit, and I had to learn about loss. I continued to studying all that I could about horses, and worked in various fields with the these wonderful creatures.
Over the years, I have competed on, and own many different horses. My learning has spanned the great divide between “Natural Horsemanship”, “Performance Horsemanship”, “Liberty Training”, touch, and the dreaded “old school” methods. I have continued to redefine my knowledge and understanding of horses to better learn a way of connecting. I never really felt that I had achieved that…until now.
Heart Walk with horses is about opening your heart, and allowing a deep connection. Letting go of that heart of stone, and allowing your heart to be transformed into one of flesh.
Through my experiences I hope to pass along ideas, and inspirations in a positive way to those like me. Those who want to do away with the old, and bring in the new light. So welcome to a world of wonder. I pray that you will find inspiration here to enjoy your love of horses as well. God Bless-Annie 🙂

A word about “Faith Based” Training and Horsemanship…

“Faith Based” training and Horsemanship is something I came up with to try to define what it is I do. Over the years different terminology has been used to describe a particular method, or style of training. Unfortunately, some of the styles I have come to know, and utilize for many years have come under scrutiny. I want to try to define what I do “personally”. I call my style ‘faith based” because I take everything I know, and have learned over the years, and pass it through scripture. Since I am gifted with the resources, and the animals are trusted in my care I feel this makes the most sense. In other words, if I can hold my head high when I am called to account by the Lord, then I think I have done the best I can. Furthermore, the techniques I employ can be traced by in time to scripture. This may sound strange to some, but I do extensive study of faith and find that the wisdom that is available to us come from above. So, this is my journey, and I hope you will stick around. Enjoy!
